The maths nobody talks about
The global business card industry prints around ten billion cards every year. Roughly 88% of those cards are thrown away within a week - usually still in the recipient's pocket when their jeans go in the wash. The rest end up in desk drawers, expense receipts, or as bookmarks until the company name on the front is no longer accurate.
Add up the paper, the ink, the plastic laminate, the foil-stamping, the shipping from print shop to office to conference and back, and the average professional is responsible for somewhere between 300 and 700 wasted cards over their working life. For a sales team of fifty people, that is a small forest.
One card, a lifetime of taps

Materials that respect the planet
We picked the materials with sustainability in mind:
- Standard cards use a recycled-PVC core (60% post-consumer content) with a soft-touch finish that needs no plastic laminate. The chip and antenna are recoverable at end of life.
- Founder Edition cards are made from anodised recycled aluminium. Aluminium is one of the most-recycled materials on Earth - your card can be melted down and reborn indefinitely.
- No batteries. NFC is passive - it harvests power from the phone tapping it. There is nothing to charge, replace, or dispose of.
- No plastic packaging. Cards ship in a small kraft-card sleeve printed with vegetable ink, sealed with a paper tab.
Manufactured close to home
Our cards are programmed and finished in the UK. We chose a domestic manufacturer specifically to cut the shipping emissions that come with the typical Shenzhen-to-Cardiff logistics chain. Royal Mail second-class postage, by far the lowest-carbon option for a small flat envelope, is the default delivery method for everyone in the UK.
International orders are shipped carbon-neutral via our courier's offset programme.
A free take-back programme
When your card eventually reaches end of life - perhaps because you've worn the surface print off after a decade of taps - send it back to us in any envelope and we will recycle the components for free. We melt the metal, recover the chip, and pulp the packaging. You get a small thank-you discount off your replacement card.
The Cymru angle
The Welsh Well-being of Future Generations Act 2015 asks every public body in Wales to think long-term about the planet, the economy, our communities and our culture.
