How to sign up to linc.cymru in 90 seconds

Step-by-step: claim your username, pick a sign-up method, and complete the four-step setup wizard.
Before you start
You'll need: - A username (3+ characters, letters/numbers/hyphens, can't start or end with a hyphen) - A Google or Apple account, or an email address you can verify - About 90 seconds
Step 1 — Claim your username
Go to linc.cymru. At the top of the homepage you'll see a single input box: "Claim linc.cymru/...".
Type the name you want. As you type, our checker queries the database in real time and tells you whether the name is free. Names that are taken or reserved show a red ✗; names that are available show a green ✓ and an "Hawlio" / "Claim" button.
Tip: try your first name, your business name, or your stage name first. Short names tend to go fast - if your top choice is gone, try adding a hyphen or a Welsh word like "-cymru" or "-music".
Step 2 — Sign up
Click Claim and you'll land on the login page with your chosen username pre-filled. Pick one of:
- Continue with Google (recommended - one click, no password to remember)
- Continue with Apple (also one click on iPhone/Mac)
- Email + password (we'll send a verification email)
We never post on your behalf, never read your contacts, and we only request the bare minimum scope (your email address and display name).
Step 3 — Run the 4-step setup wizard
Once you're signed in, the setup wizard launches automatically:
- Profile basics - your display name, headline (e.g. "Crëwr cynnwys o Gaerdydd"), and a profile photo (drag-and-drop, we compress it for you)
- Add your links - paste up to 5 URLs (Instagram, your website, Spotify, etc.). The platform auto-detects the type and shows the right icon
- Pick a theme - choose from our curated bilingual gradient themes (or stay on the default Cymru palette)
- Preview & publish - see exactly how your profile will look to visitors, then hit Cyhoeddi / Publish
The wizard takes 60-90 seconds for most people. Everything is editable later from your dashboard.
Step 4 — Share your link
Your profile is now live at linc.cymru/yourname. Share it on social media, add it to your email signature, or order an NFC business card to make sharing physical too.
